About Me_ I am a licensed clinical social worker that has been providing psychotherapy, training, consultation and group work for over 30 years. I received my clinical social work license in 1983 after receiving my M.S.W. from University of California, Berkeley in 1980. In addition to having a private practice, I have been involved in training other mental health professionals in both group therapy and eating disorders, have been a consultant for a research project with Stanford University on group psychotherapy and have been an adjunct faculty member for the graduate psychology program at J.F.K. University in Orinda, CA. I have worked in both the private sector with Alta Bates hospital as their mental health consultant in a program for morbid obesity and the public sector for Contra Costa County Mental Health as a clinician in their outpatient child and family clinic. Among my areas of expertise are individual treatment with adults and adolescents, group therapy, treatment of eating disorders, parenting, mood disorders, grief and loss, stress management and women’s issues. I am currently a group psychotherapy consultant at the Berkeley Psychotherapy Institute where I teach and consult to other mental health professionals in an advanced training program about group psychotherapy.
